How do we support those with a terminal illness during this time? There has literally never been a moment like this in our collective living memories.
Ticking of a bucket list is impossible if you aren’t allowed to go outside. Spending more precious time with your loved ones is impossible if you don’t live in the same house. Small comforts like a nice meal out, trip to the cinema or even a hug form a dear friend aren’t allowed anymore.
The ‘new normal’ isn’t very comforting for people like Paul. But support is available from a special group of organisations that come together during
Dying Matters Week, which runs from 11-17th May 2020. The theme this year is ‘dying to be heard’. The week championed by Dying Matters, part of Hospice UK aims to encourage people to talk about these difficult subjects in a supportive and practical way.
