We hope you’ve now heard about the 2.6 Challenge – Save the UK’s Charities fundraising challenge: 2.6 Challenge Information
Well this is something maybe your team will be able to get on board during this challenging time? It’s an amazing initiative designed for all charities to take advantage of and receive urgent income. It’s already all over BBC1 News and will go national with huge support from media, businesses, celebrities and 1,000s of charities getting stuck in.
We at Age Concern Colchester & NE Essex are inviting our corporate partners to do the challenge to raise money for us.
During these difficult times, our services at Age Concern Colchester & North East Essex are needed even more than ever supporting later years, some of which represent the most vulnerable in the community and every single one of them is precious to us.
-For instance, our ever busy advice service has raised as much as £1.3m in benefit entitlements for those most in need over the last year.
-Over 100 vulnerable adults are being matched with a pal through telephone befriending service, now operating over the telephone.
-We are also extending additional support for bereaved and dementia carers and introduce new programmes in relation to the Corona Virus outbreak over the coming months which we will let you know about in due course.
How corporates are helping our small charity
It’s this type of initiative around the 2.6 Challenge that could make the big difference to keep us afloat during challenging times and to help us all keep delivering services for the NE Essex community during COVID-19.
