As you might already know, we are really keen to encourage health and wellbeing here at the Veranda Hub. Chair Zumba classes are led by Kayley our Zumba trainer being the latest of the many fitness clubs available here at Age Concern HQ.
Her take on Zumba is that classes should be both age-friendly and great fun. We think you’ll find that her tag line “have a wiggle and a giggle,” says it all.
Ever since school, Kayley tells us, she has been interested in fitness so later chose to become a professional trainer. At one time she owned her own dance school and more recently, she ran a Zumba lessons in Tollgate fundraising for comic relief. Apart from Zumba classes, Kayley enjoys helping out on the Veranda and mixing with our members. Kayley’s Nan was a regular at the Age Concern coffee mornings so she understands what it is like to feel right at home amongst the other members of our Veranda Hub.
Her Zumba sessions last a total of 1 hour which can be done either seated or standing up. Depending on each individual or group, she says the moves will be tailored toward people’s capabilities – No-one need feel pressured to push past what they are prepared to do. Her classes are also sure to go with a Latin American vibe so whatever pace you take, be assured that what’s good for the body will improve your mood. Some members prefer to use some of the equipment which often includes dumbbells and resistance bands in time with the beat.
There are places on both days still available. Bookings will be taken by our Veranda team as there is a health declaration to complete in advance and places are booked.
