4 Local Girls do Age Concern Proud Organising & Fundraising the Rotary Quiz Night

We are pleased to report that the All Ages Rotary Quiz night on 14th February was a rip-roaring success for everyone involved. We were fortunate enough to have four local girls as our hosts for the evening, all aged 14 & 15, who had chosen to support Age Concern Colchester and North East Essex for their Rotary International Youth Leadership and Management Project. All four girls carried out their roles with both panache and tremendous efficiency. The charity are very grateful to them for all they have done to further our cause this year.

Simon Prestney, the CEO of Age Concern Colchester & NE Essex, indicated that these girls did everything towards making the evening a big success including designing the evening, creating the quiz, selling tickets, providing the food and quiz mastering to boot. “They’ve done everything themselves and chosen Age Concern Colchester because they feel it’s a really important charity.” The Rotary Club were also quite chuffed: “These young ladies have done a fantastic job!”

Our young hosts were aware loneliness is occurring at an epidemic rate in later years and hope that some of the people who access Age Concern’s facilities might take this opportunity for a night out which they did in droves. Over 100 people attended raising a grand total of £686.59 towards the work Age Concern is doing for later years around NE Essex.

And while you are about it, have a peek at our snaps from the evening below…….
