News Update

With the New Year drawing in, we can look back on what was a great 2018. The team are really looking forward to 2019 – supporting more and more vulnerable people and going from strength to strength. All of us very much enjoy our role supporting the Colchester community combatting loneliness and tackling poverty in later years. We will be adding new events and friendships groups over the months to come, so keep an eye on the events page. Please drop us a line, or visit us and see what we do.

Colchester Half Marathon March 2019:  For all you keep-fit enthusiasts, this is a special event within the Colchester always brings with it a great turn out of spectators. More Small Hats please: These are the smoothie hats for the Big Knit which is now in full swing. We would love to reach our target of 6500 hats during January. We already have well over 3,500 but please keep it going. For more details and knitting patterns:

The Veranda: Stay abreast of the growing number of friendship groups, events and activities on the Veranda for 2019. The Veranda is aimed at bringing together people in later years with common interests to develop new friendships: gardening, knitting, bereaved or otherwise simply looking to be at a place where people look out for one another. We can offer you a warm welcome and great hospitality helping those in later years live life better. The term Veranda was chosen because it is universal for a place of leisure and community, which is particularly important as Colchester comprises of diverse groups of people:

Volunteering: We are continuing our search for befrienders all over the borough of Colchester plus the surrounding communities. There are also a number of key volunteer roles available we would like to fill so if you feel fit the bill, do not hesitate to get in touch with us:
