Experts say, owning or adopting a pet tends to help reduce stress and can be therapeutically healing, for example by lowering blood pressure while providing physical wellbeing, particularly walking those dogs on a Sunday morning! Many of us have found companionship over the years by looking after a pet with more opportunities for social interaction and going outside on a regular basis.
